FBLA Announcements
DON'T FORGET TO RSVP!!!
If you received an invitation for the FBLA End-of-the-year Ceremony & Party, and have not yet handed back your slip, please do so by Monday, May 23rd. All you have to is circle whether or not you can come, and turn in the slip of paper to room 2118 (Mrs. Jackson's room). If you do not know where her room is, refer to your business teacher. Members, you should take this honorable oppurtunity to attend the ceremony, where many of you will be awarded for your part in FBLA. Afterwards, we have very fun activities planned for the party, as well as tons of catered food. Don't miss out on this fun party to end the year!!

If you are attending the party, please wear a white/any plain shirt because we will be signing shirts! Markers will be supplied, you just need to come wearing a shirt you are okay with being signed by friends. IF you don't have a shirt, consider going to Target, Walmart, or Michaels for a plain t-shirt. Don't forget because this will be a great memoir you can look back at years from now and remember your friends & fun memories! :)

March of Dimes Info!!

FBLA: Start of 2010 Announcements!
As this NEW YEAR begins, FBLA would like to start it off with a BANG!!  On this Wednesday, January 13th and Thursday, January 14th, FBLA will be taking their yearbook pictures by period through their Business classes.  The club has planned the yearbook pictures to coincide with the monthly Dress for Success activity.  For this month only, to encourage ALL FBLA members to Dress for Success, members will receive ten, that's right ten, FBLA points for dressing for success.  Now that's not all!!  Additionally, the prize value for the winners will not be the normal $15.00 prize but instead both the Best Dressed Male and Female will receive a $25.00 gift certificates so dress to impress and take a GREAT yearbook picture.

Now that the holidays are over there is still so much that must be done to support community service activities.  All during this week and next week FBLA will be conducting their annual "After the Holidays" Food Drive to restock the shelves of the ACTS food pantry.  Bring in your non-perishable items to your Business classrooms and receive one FBLA point for each item brought in.  In addition to food items, ACTS needs baby items like diapers and wipes and you will receive extra points for those large items.

FBLA competitive events are coming up and FBLA wants to showcase your expertise in the business world.  Members, you have a huge opportunity to travel to the Germanna regional competition in Brentsville, then go to State Competitions in Reston, VA and finally to Nashville, TN for Nationals, but you've got to take the first step of talking to your business teacher about the various events.  Refer to the FBLA binder located in all business classrooms or the sheet that you were given at the beginning of the year for details.

Lastly, next Friday, January 22nd FBLA would like to support the Boys Varsity Basketball team FBLA members, Eric Brent, Dominique Majors, Nathan Brown, Jason Jones and Nick Exposito as they play Potomac HS.  This is a very big game and we want all 230+ members to be their to give them our support.  See you at the game.
